The Colne View housing development forms part of the Colne Harbour / Hythe regeneration programme, in an area bordering the towns older commercial quarter and river harbour.
The development comprises of 255 apartments and 22 town houses. The scheme includes the provision of a landscaped riverside walk, a pocket park, commercial units and a riverside restaurant.
For many years Allglass have been supplying new build upvc windows to Barratt Eastern Counties and other regional branches but this was the first major development incorporating aluminium windows. The project has been phased over blocks and Allglass have been involved in Blocks 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7.
The focal point of the entire development is The Rotunder. This cylindrical building's façade is onstructed entirely from facetted curtain walling and supporting steelwork. The curtain walling is glazed with a mixture of double glazed units and brightly coloured insulated panels making the whole building instantly recognizable.
In addition to the windows, doors and curtain walling installed on the project, Allglass also manufactured and installed a large number of roofline products and bespoke aluminium pressings to integrate the fenestration into the building.
Allglass have been involved in the Colne View development since 2006 and look forward to working on a further 2 more blocks.
